Snoopy's Shelter Intake Photo
|Snoopy was spotted by our Facebook angel Kathy J when he came into a California kill shelter as a stray on July 17th. Kathy emailed the shelter to see if he was adoptable, but received the reply that he was on stray hold until the 22nd and, if deemed adoptable would be available to be rescued 48 hours after that.
Kathy emailed the shelter on the 22nd to find out Snoopy's status and was told he had not been evaluated yet and was, therefore, NOT adoptable, even though he was listed as adoptable on Pet Harbor. The very next day, Snoopy "disappeared" from Pet Harbor. Kathy once again emailed the shelter ... and did not receive a reply. We were hoping that Snoopy had either been RTO (Returned To Owner) or adopted and we moved on to helping other dogs.
About a week later, Kathy found Snoopy listed once again as adoptable, but with a different photo! We had no idea why the shelter hadn't let us know since we had expressed an interest in this dog a week ago! But, we didn't waste time wondering and a plan was put into motion to pull Snoopy immediately.
UPDATE 7/28: Thanks to Chuck and Jon from Husky Camp Rescue, Snoopy was picked up at the shelter this afternoon and is safely in their care.
According to Chuck, "Handsome. Looks happy. Very sweet."
Snoopy is thought to be a youngster; probably not much over a year old. He is neutered, up-to-date on shots and microchipped.
UPDATE 7/30: Snoopy arrived in Phoenix today courtesy of our friends at Husky Camp Rescue and straight into the arms (and heart) of his new foster mom, Sarah.
FOSTER UPDATE 7/30: "Yeah he's gonna be spoiled! He jumped up and flopped like this, such a love bug!"
Adoption fee $425.00.
