| Que is a 3+ year old (DOB 10/10/04), AKC registered white German Shepherd Dog. His sire is a silver and black and his dam is a pure white; both are OFA hip certified. He was purchased from a breeder as a puppy and has been well loved and taken care of his entire life by the same owners. Unfortunately, due to medical reasons, the owner is force to see rehoming for his best friend.
We met Que for his evaluation this afternoon. He was confident and steady and only mildly concerned about being taken away from his dad by our trainer, Bert. According to Bert, "He took everything I threw at him, including touching his entire body, picking up his feet and checking his feet and ears." Que is neutered, up-to-date on shots and will be microchipped prior to adoption. He is housebroken and good with kids and other dogs. He is territorial when the need arises, but with his loved one he is a complete marshmellow. The only negative we could find is that he needs to lose about 8 pounds. Because his owner's health has not been the best, Que's level of activity has been low. His new family should be committed to increasing Que's activity level to take off some of those extra pounds. UPDATE 4/22: It is with a heavy heart that we learned that Que will be returning to rescue. His adoptive family is unable to keep him. We are looking for temporary foster care for Que until we can assess his needs. UPDATE 5/2: A progress report tells us that Que is surprisingly crate trained and is adjusting well to his "confinement." This opens quite a few possibilities for Que in that we now know that he can be reliably confined when necessary (i.e., during adjustment to a new home). Que is looking for a foster home or a new forever family. UPDATE 5/19: We need to move Que into a new foster home as soon as possible. If you have room for this handsome hulk, please email Nancy at the link below. UPDATE 7/1: Two of our staff members moved Que to his new foster home in the pines today. He spent quite a bit of time checking out his "yard" and we could see that the bonding had already begun with his foster folks before we headed back to Phoenix. If all goes well, and he can peacefully cohabitate with 2 cats, Que has found his forever home. Time will tell.
Adoption fee to be determined.
