|Marsha came into our rescue in mid 2017 from a California kill shelter. She was quickly adopted into a family with a handicapped adult, giving Marsha a person and a job to do. Sadly, that person recently passed away, and Marsha is without her person (who was home and by her side 24/7) and her job (being his support).
From Marsha's current family, "I applied to return my dear dog over the weekend. My husband died ... and I am just not equipped to give Athena (used to be Marsha) what she needs. We got her from you. I did meet with a behaviorist over the weekend while we were all in Utah, and she agrees that Athena is grieving and needs more of a purpose than I can give her. Can you help me? The dog is just beautiful and smart and I am sure someone will love her! I wish things were different. She is just so sad from the passing of my husband and I really donít know what to do. Please let me know what I need to do. She is safe here but my son is planning on moving out so then wonít be able to help her anymore."

We have been given a deadline of New Year's Day to find a place for Marsha to go. Does anyone have a white German shepherd on their Christmas wish list this year?
If you are interested in fostering Marsha, please read about OUR FOSTER PROGRAM and submit a Foster Application (found on the Foster Program page).
UPDATE 12/8: Marsha came out to the park this afternoon with her current owner. She was quite upset to have her mom leave her in the hands of a "stranger" and walk away, but a few minutes with Bert and then with an interested adopter made all the difference in the world. She walked beautifully on lead and was responsive to commands; that is, until the wind shifted and she caught a whiff of mom, who was hiding in her vehicle in the parking lot.
Marsha needs a job; that's for certain. She also needs to lose a few pounds. We will be working on the weight issue and have begun our search for the right home to give Marsha the purpose that's lacking in her life after the death of "her person."
Adoption fee $355.00.
