|This is one fella that we never thought we would have to relist. Johnny was placed with what we had thought would be his forever family in October 2018. Initially, all reports were favorable, and Johnny seemed to be fitting into his newfound (and very busy family).
In a surprising turn of events, a mere two months after being adopted. and subsequently moving with his new family into their new home, Johnny was not coping well with the chaos that a busy family and a new home can sometimes generate, and we were contacted by a heartbroken adopter who had made the difficult decision to return Johnny for rehoming.
Johnny will be rejoining our rescue as soon as a spot opens up for him. We will be looking for a home with STRUCTURE; GSD experience is always helpful when adopting a larger GSD that has had difficulties. Johnny is a lot of dog, but he has a huge heart that wants to belong and to love.
UPDATE 2/16: Johnny is on his way back to Phoenix! Thanks to our dear friends, Becky and Phil, who offered Johnny a ride to Kingman, where he was picked up by his new foster moms, Cindy (a prior adopter) and her daughter, Chris.
Johnny has arrived in Phoenix. We were slightly shocked at all the weight he has gained over the past several months, but Cindy and Chris say they will get him back in shape in no time. While in the park, Johnny attracted a lot of attention, and everyone passing by had to stop and meet him. We're hoping we can bring Johnny's waistline, and his happy spirit back to him now that he's back in our care. Cindy and Chris have already reported a positive outcome on the home introductions, and we're anxiously awaiting the news that Johnny is home to stay.
Adoption fee $375.00.
