Once we thought Snoopy was not going to be available (or had already been adopted/rescued), we moved on in our search for dogs needing our help and we stumbled upon Cyrus, a one year old, in another California shelter. He was on stray hold and due out on the 28th. Needless to say, we were watching him like a hawk.

As Chuck and Jon headed to one shelter to pull Snoopy, Kathy J was checking in on Cyrus and, by sheer luck, he was available to rescue and could be picked up in one hour! Chuck and Jon grabbed Snoopy and headed out to pick up Cyrus, too!

Fun at Husky Camp for Cyrus (left) and Snoopy

UPDATE 7/30: Cyrus arrived in Phoenix this afternoon courtesy of our friends Chuck and Jon at Husky Camp Rescue.

Cyrus is scheduled for his neuter surgery on Friday, August 7th. He will also be updated on shots and microchipped. We're going to spend the next week trying to put some weight on Cyrus, which he sorely needs. He's definitely confused and trying to figure out what happened to his life, but he was friendly to all along his journey. He's definitely going to need some training, but what German shepherd doesn't?

PLEASE NOTE: Cyrus has been tagged for an evaluation with Soldier's Best Friend on August 14th, after he has recovered from his neuter surgery. If he is not accepted into their training program, he will be available for introductions and adoption.

Adoption fee to be determined.

If you are interested in Cyrus, please fill out our PROSPECTIVE ADOPTER'S QUESTIONNAIRE. You will be contacted by return email. If you do not receive a response within 24 hours, please Email Nancy at This questionnaire link is only for Cyrus or other white German Shepherds on our site. WE WILL NOT CONTACT YOU until a questionnaire has been completed.

Please familiarize yourself with our adoption policies by reading ADOPTION BEGINS HERE. THANK YOU.
