|MALE IN A NUTSHELL: Just a puppy; a year old, maybe a little more.|
Our facebook angel reluctantly brought this boy to our attention. After our devastating loss of Niki just yesterday, we were reluctant to take on another puppy, but we had to at least have him checked out. Our friends, Chuck and Jon from Husky Camp, agreed to go to the shelter to see what this boy was all about. Once they met him, they had nothing but good to say.
We were surprised to learn that this boy is, in fact, a long coated German shepherd! He had actually been shaved into a POODLE cut when he came into the shelter. Thankfully, shelter personnel "fixed" the shave job, but you can still see a "pom-pom" at the end of Blitz' tail in some of his videos and in the pictures above! Who would do such a thing?
UPDATE 8/28: Blitz arrived in Phoenix today!
He's a joyful, happy boy who just wants to play and be your friend. He rode beautifully in our vehicle to Phoenix. So far we've discovered he knows "sit" and appears to be crate trained. He gets along with everyone, both two footed and four. He's going to be DDG (Drop Dead Gorgeous) when his coat grows in!
UPDATE 9/10: We attempted to do a kitty introduction this evening, with Blitz being his usual puppy brain self. When he first ran into the cat, he didn't know what to do, but as soon as she moved, his puppy brain kicked in and he wanted to play! He was a complete NUT, trying to figure out how to get this cat to play with him! At no time did the cat get upset or frightened or try to escape. She did her best to play with him from underneath a chair, but he outweighed her at least 10 to 1, so she didn't stand a chance. We finally called a halt to the test and took Blitz out of the room ... the cat merely sauntered away. Blitz is just all puppy, and a big one to boot.
Adoption fee $425.00.
